Need for Indian Version of Facebook

The Urgent Need of an Indian Social Media Network like Facebook Developed from "Make in India" Initiative

Following the Cambridge data analytical scandal by social media giant Facebook who breached its own privacy policy and leaked the personal data of about 87 million users, everyone is unhappy with Mark Zuckerberg and also doubt about their data security in the most popular social media in the upcoming future. Even Facebook have collected the personal phone calls and messages details from millions of android users. The co-founder of Whatsapp Brian Acton also ask everyone to delete their Facebook account right now from his official Twitter handle. The significance of his message lies in the fact that Acton had sold Whatsapp to Facebook in 2014 for a sum of $19 billion and was closely working with Facebook and Zuckerberg even after the sale as he was heading the Whatsapp division under him. Acton's comment brings in severe criticism in Twitter and other social platforms with people expressing their grievances about the handling of personal data by Facebook to third party users and many people have already stopped using Facebook and its related products due to the risk of privacy breach in future again.

The main problem lies in the fact that Facebook is the largest standing social media giant all over the world with no such competitor at its level who can grab the social market. Facebook have proved to be very useful as a social platform since years but the recent days scenario shows that its detrimental effects prevail over its usefulness. The recent changes in Like count policy of Facebook since March 2015 is affecting the business revenues of all pages by cutting-off the traffic to all pages by its own choice. The new policy do not allow more than 50-100 Likes per day to any page despite being real likes or made using genuine and paid social marketing sites and remove the extra likes after sometime. The fact is Facebook do not limit the Like count of the page as soon after it reaches its everyday target and continue to allow any number of Likes to come to the page for its own traffic and revenue generation. Now when it is time for the page owners to generate their revenue, Facebook will remove the extra likes thus depriving the page owners of their due revenue. But a notable point is that it never removes any Likes after 100+ Likes which are obtained by using Paid Promotion service of Facebook. The page owners work very hard day and night for their pages and they also spend good amount in social marketing from different vendors at affordable prices as Facebook's Social Promotion service sometimes prove to be costly at initial stages. Moreover, even if any page has million or billion likes still Facebook do not allow any advertisement on the pages but enjoy that traffic itself.

It is high time that we emphasis on the urgent need of developing our Indian version of social media network out of the "Make in India" initiative which can give a parallel competition to Facebook in the field of social media. The Mahindra Group chief Mr. Anand Mahindra in his Twitter handle proposed the development of an Indian version of similar social media startup and he is more than overwhelmed by the entrepreneurship mindset of India. He is even ready to provide support with a seed capital for this social media project. Boldink Technologies Private Limited, a newly born startup company is already working on the same idea last few months with the aim of making it a superior platform than Facebook. Boldink Technologies is not only interested to provide a social media network but also intend to provide a combined platform for developing and sharing academic knowledge and technical skills, nurturing of extra curricular skills and creativity, businesses on IT grounds with recent technological developments and lot more. We are in the initial phases of developing our model and already progressed a little with it and still a lot more effort and monetary resources are required for developing the complete platform sooner based on current need and market scenario.

Boldink Technologies hope that the leading industrialists of our country like Mr. Anand Mahindra will keep on motivating new entrepreneurs like us and will extend their kind support by assisting us with the required seed capital necessary for developing this giant platform. We are running a little delay with the work of this project due to the lack of seed capital required for initial investments at this early developmental stage. A good amount of investment have already been made out of our negligible ability and we are still continuing to keep the project progressing and badly in need of investments for completing this urgent project at earliest.
